The AcuFacial

The AcuFacial is a natural, effective treatment to enhance appearance while simultaneously addressing internal, whole body imbalances.

The full 75-90 min therapy includes facial and body acupuncture, microcurrent,  LED light, facial massage, cupping and gua sha.

The AcuFacial treatments are with Carrie.

The AcuFacial with Carrie...

Microcurrent: As my mentor and teacher Shellie Goldstein says, "It’s like taking your face to the gym!" The microcurrent used in this treatment is a professional-grade, best-in-class machine. I've studied and trained for many years to provide a treatment protocol to clients that truly yields amazing, measurable results. The microcurrent treatment stimulates adenosine triphosphate (ATP) while simultaneously reading and adjusting to the tissue, muscles, and skin on a cellular level. What all this means is that through precise, expert technique and positioning of the probes combined with the highest-quality technology, this treatment is customized to your individual needs to produce truly exceptional results. Microcurrent lifts and tones at the belly of the muscle or releases tight muscles at the golgi tendons,  increases cellular permeability for improved health and function and stimulates collagen and elastin production. The ATP is cumulative, so a series of 5-10 treatments and maintenance thereafter is recommended.

Acupuncture: Face and body points are selected to enhance your facial appearance while simultaneously treating systemic, underlying, internal conditions and imbalances.  The facial needles used in the treatment are the highest-quality, hair-thin seirin needles as well as gold, silver or copper intradermal needles. The points are selected in combination to release tension, stimulate collagen and elastin, increase the lifting function of muscles, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce inflammation and stimulate blood flow. Facial needles may also be used to treat scarring, acne, rosacea, TMJ/jaw pain, facial neuropathy (ie: Bell's Palsy), eyelid ptosis (dropping/hooded eye lids), reduce crow's feet, tighten the neck and jawline, lift the outer corners of the eyes and mouth,  and balance asymmetry.  The body points are selected to treat the root and internal disharmonies such as hormonal acne, irregular /painful menstrual cycles, relieve menopausal symptoms, improve digestion/reduce bloating, relieve muscle pain, reduce stress, improve sleep and overall well-being.

LED light: A professional-grade LED light machine is used with the facial needles or as a stand-alone treatment.  The LED light contains different wave lengths to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, stimulate collagen and elastin production, even skin tone, treat acne and reduce inflammation.

Gua Sha: The facial gua sha in this treatment releases muscular tension, knots and adhesions in the fascia, which is connective tissue that is beneath the skin and attaches to muscles. Gua sha increases blood flow and proper functioning of the muscles and tendons. Facial asymmetries are often caused by tight muscles in the face, scalp, neck, shoulders and/or chest, back and hips. By combining my trained eye and with expert palpation, I diagnosis and treat the root of the asymmetry.

Cupping: Facial cupping improves lymphatic drainage to promote healthy tissue and reduce puffiness. The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory system. Fluid accumulates in the tissue as part of normal circulatory functioning, however, the lymphatic system by design, does not have a pump to move the fluid and, therefore, fluid tends to accumulate and cause puffiness. Over time, the puffiness may stretch the skin (for example, in delicate skin under the eyes) and create pockets of accumulated fluid. The AcuFacial includes facial cupping to promote lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness by moving accumulated fluid. This is different than the body cupping as it does not leave a red petechia mark and the intention of the facial treatment is for lymphatic drainage, whereas the body cupping is primarily for  detox and muscular pain. Body cupping may be added to the AcuFacial treatment or as a standalone treatment.

Microdermabrasion: Diamond-tip microdermabrasion gently exfoliates the skin to improve cellular regeneration and promote healthy, vibrantly fresh tone. The microdermabrasion may be added to the AcuFacial treatment or as a standalone treatment.

Oxygen Treatment: A blissful oxygen-peptide treatment may be added to nourish your skin and cells and truly finish any treatment with a healthy glow!

Skin care: Masks, moisturizing and deep cleansing treatments may be added to the AcuFacial. I also advise on safe, effective products and skin care routines.

You are such a gifted healer, Carrie! Your love and compassion definitely reflects through your work. Thank you for your wonderful energy! FM, former student/graduate of the Academy of Advanced Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture

I have been seeing Carrie for a combination of preventative and corrective facial acupuncture for over two years. I am so grateful for her knowledge and expertise. She is professional, kind and her positivity is contagious! Carrie provided a comprehensive treatment each visit and after my first couple of treatments, I saw amazing results. My friends often complimented how my complexion looked fresh and glowing! After I completed my 10 treatment series, I saw VERY noticeable improvements! My skin was firmer, my wrinkles were less prominent or non-existent, and my overall skin tone was more even. I look forward to my maintenance treatments with Carrie as it is always a relaxing experience! For anyone looking for a safe and natural way to age gracefully, go see Carrie! She is the best! Carrie is a fantastic acupuncturist. She can treat the whole body but is especially great for facial and beauty treatments. I see visible difference after every treatment. My skin becomes soft, supple and glowing, and my jawline is tighter. I would recommend Carrie to anyone who is looking for great facial acupuncture. MM, Acupuncturist in NYC and Paris

Carrie is a very intuitive healer with a very warm and soothing approach. I am a colleague and I admire her healing abilities. Recently, I received a Reiki session with her and I really enjoyed it. I practice Reiki myself as an acupuncturist and I have received other Reiki healing sessions before. I could tell Carrie is a very gifted healer. I highly recommend her.
